Regular Season Round 7: Flames - Rocks 59-69

There was a minor upset in Vienna where 4th placed Flames (4-3) were defeated by seventh ranked Rocks (4-3) 69-59. It was an exceptional evening for Italian guard Jan Nicoli (182-90) who led the winners and scored 13 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Canadian center Corey Hallett (210-84, college: Monmouth, agency: SportsVision-Service) accounted for 11 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side. Guard Dominik Alturban (190-85) came up with 18 points and 8 rebounds and German forward Maximilan Huebner (196-91) added 14 points and 12 rebounds respectively for Flames in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players saving starting five for next games. Rocks moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Flames and Blackbirds. Rocks' next round opponent will be league's second-placed Mustangs in Mistelbach and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Flames will play on the road against Worthersee Piraten in Klagenfurt and hope to win that game.
