Regular Season Round 7: Selcuklu - Bakirkoy 75-73

Important game to mention about took place in Selcuk. Third ranked Selcuklu (6-1) saved a 2-point victory at home edging 9th ranked Bakirkoy (3-4) 75-73 on Sunday evening. Host team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. Selcuklu outrebounded Bakirkoy 48-31 including 33 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for American forward Will Daniels (202-86, college: Rhode Island) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 14 rebounds. Croatian swingman Fran Pilepic (193-89) helped adding 16 points and 5 rebounds. Selcuklu's coach used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side the former international Reha Oz (200-78) responded with 21 points and 5 rebounds and Canadian guard Marek Klassen (185-92, college: Point Loma) scored 14 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Selcuklu moved-up to second place, which they share with Afyon. Bakirkoy lost their third game in a row. They keep the ninth position with four games lost. Selcuklu will face Karesi Spor (#7) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Bakirkoy will play against Bursaspor and hope to win that game.
