Date: November 5, 2017
The most surprising game was the first loss of Schalke (7-1) on the court of seventh ranked Rostock on Sunday night. Visitors were defeated by Rostock 82-66. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Schalke. Rostock shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 59.1 percentage. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Brandon Lockhart (185-90, college: Drury) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 5 assists and Bill Borekambi (198-92, college: Sequoias CC) who added 14 points and 4 assists during the contest. Four Rostock players scored in double figures. American power forward RJ Slawson (203-92, college: Jacksonville) responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Courtney Belger (187-89, college: Quincy) scored 11 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Rostock (4-4) moved-up to fifth place in North, which they share with Rist Wedel and Bochum. Schalke at the other side still keeps top position with one game lost. Rostock is looking forward to face Herzoege Wolfenbuettel (#9) at home in the next round. Schalke will play against RSV Eintracht (#12) and is hoping to win this game.
