Regular Season Round 8: Schwenningen - Mainz 100-60

Everything went according to plan when first ranked BV Villingen-Schwenningen (7-1) outscored at home 11th ranked Mainz (3-5) 100-60 on Sunday. BV Villingen-Schwenningen dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Mainz's 38 and made 21-of-27 free shots (77.8 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Mainz 46-22 including a 15-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. BV Villingen-Schwenningen looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Mainz's players. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Rasheed Moore (196, college: E.Stroudsburg) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 32 points and 11 rebounds and Italian-Slovenian center Davor Barovic (211-90) who added 8 points and 16 rebounds during the contest. Four BV Villingen-Schwenningen players scored in double figures. Latvian forward Janis Dumburs (198-96) responded with 22 points and naturalized American point guard Anish Sharda (188-82, college: St.Mary's, KS) scored 9 points and 6 assists. BV Villingen-Schwenningen have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position in South-West with 7-1 record. Loser Mainz dropped to the tenth place with five games lost. BV Villingen-Schwenningen will face Limburg (#14) on the road in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Mainz will play against Koblenz (#6) and hope to win that game.
