Everything could happen in Timisoara at the game between two tied teams. Both eleventh ranked Timba Timosoara and bottom-ranked CS Dinamo Bucuresti had identical 0-4 record. This time Timba Timosoara used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Bucuresti 87-71 on Sunday night. The game was mostly controlled by Timba Timosoara. CS Dinamo Bucuresti was better in third quarter 21-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded CS Dinamo Bucuresti 51-32 including 20 on the offensive glass. Belgian forward Thomas De-Thaey (203-91, college: N.Carolina St., agency: Octagon Europe) orchestrated the victory by scoring 29 points and 9 rebounds. American center John Florveus (211-90, college: Georgia, agency: Slash Sports) contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Four Timba Timosoara players scored in double figures. Mircea Neagoe answered with 17 points and 5 rebounds and guard Andrei Iliescu (186-97) added 14 points in the effort for CS Dinamo Bucuresti. CS Dinamo Bucuresti's coach rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Timba Timosoara (1-4) left bottom position moving up to ninth place, which they share with Targu Mures. It was CS Dinamo Bucuresti's fifth loss in a row. They still close the standings with five games lost. Timba Timosoara will face higher ranked CSU Sibiu (#5) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. CS Dinamo Bucuresti will play against the league's second-placed Pitesti (#2) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
