Regular Season Round 8: Hamburg - Phoenix Hagen 111-84

Date: November 6, 2017
The most important game in the last round took place in Hamburg between third ranked Phoenix Hagen (5-2) and fourth ranked Hamburg (6-2) on Monday night. Phoenix Hagen was crushed by Hamburg on the road 111-84. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Phoenix Hagen. They outrebounded Phoenix Hagen 40-28 including 17 on the offensive glass. Hamburg shot the lights out from three sinking 16 long-distance shots on high 55.2 percentage. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Jonathon Williams (198-90, college: Wagner) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and 4 assists and center Enosch Wolf (215-90, college: Connecticut) who added 17 points and 10 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) during the contest. Swingman Jonas Grof (201-96, college: High School) responded with 18 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and American guard James Reid (190-94, college: Boise St.) scored 14 points and 7 assists. Four Hamburg and five Phoenix Hagen players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Hamburg moved-up to third place. Phoenix Hagen at the other side dropped to the fourth position with two games lost. Hamburg are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Baunach (#16) on the road in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Phoenix Hagen will play against Kirchheim Knights (#8) and is hoping to win this game.
