Regular Season Round 9: Bayreuth - ALBA 83-76

The game between third ranked ALBA Berlin (7-3) and fourth ranked BBC Bayreuth (7-2) was the most important one in the last round on Saturday night. ALBA Berlin was defeated by BBC Bayreuth in a tough game in Bayreuth 76-83. BBC Bayreuth made 26-of-30 free shots (86.7 percent) during the game. It was a good game for the former international center Andreas Seiferth (209-89) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds. American Nate Linhart (201-86, college: Akron) contributed with 23 points for the winners. Linhart is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four BBC Bayreuth players scored in double figures. American point guard Peyton Siva (183-90, college: Louisville) answered with 20 points and 8 assists and the other American import swingman Spencer Butterfield (190-92, college: Utah St., agency: 3Eye) added 18 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for ALBA Berlin. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. BBC Bayreuth have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to third place. ALBA Berlin at the other side dropped to the fourth position with three games lost. BBC Bayreuth are looking forward to face Telekom Baskets (#8) in Bonn in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. ALBA Berlin will play at home against Eisbaeren Bremerhaven (#16) and is hoping to win this game.
