Regular Season Round 9: Fraport SKY II - Elchingen 84-87

The most exciting game of round 9 in the ProB took place in Frankfurt. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 6th ranked Fraport Skyliners II (4-5) to first ranked Elchingen (8-1) 87-84 on Saturday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. The best player for the winners was American guard Hayden Lescault (196-92, college: Point Loma) who scored 31 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Bosnian-Slovenian power forward Edin Alispahic (208-88) chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds. Elchingen's coach Dario Jerkic used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Alex Fountain (201-95, college: Houston Baptist) who recorded 24 points and 7 rebounds (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!) and British guard Jules Akodo (188-96) added 19 points and 6 assists respectively. Four Fraport Skyliners II players scored in double figures. Elchingen have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain first place in South with 8-1 record. Fraport Skyliners II at the other side dropped to the eighth position with five games lost. Elchingen are looking forward to face SG Schwelmer Baskets (#4) at home in the next round. Fraport Skyliners II will play against Bayer Giants (#6) in Leverkusen and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
