Regular Season Round 9: Rendsburg - Stade 85-72

Very expected game when 10th ranked Stade (2-5) was defeated on the road by fourth ranked Rendsburg (6-2) 85-72 on Saturday. Rendsburg outrebounded Stade 51-31 including a 18-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American guard Garrett Jefferson (190-91, college: Cal.Baptist) who had a double-double by scoring 25 points and 11 rebounds. British power forward Deji Adekunle (209-92, college: Keiser) chipped in a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds. Rendsburg's coach Bjarne Homfeldt allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the other side the best for losing team was Spanish power forward Oscar Andres (200-87) who recorded 8 points and 17 rebounds and swingman Janis Stielow (193-95) added 16 points respectively. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Rendsburg. They moved-up to third place in North, which they share with Bergedorf. Loser Stade dropped to the ninth position with five games lost. Rendsburg will face Neustadt TSV (#6) on the road in the next round. Stade will play against the league's second-placed Aschersleben and hope to win that game.
