There was an upset when higher ranked B.Loewen (3-4) was defeated on the road by tenth ranked Braunschweig (2-4) 66-56 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 8 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 10 points. The best player for the winners was American forward Brianna Wright (182-94, college: Memphis) who had a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds. The other American import point guard Ariel Hearn (171-94, college: Memphis) chipped in 17 points and 5 steals. American guard Deeshyra Thomas (168-95, college: Weber St.) produced 18 points and 8 rebounds and Anne Storck (180-88) added 10 points and 13 rebounds respectively for the guests. Braunschweig moved-up to eighth place in North, which they share with BG 89 Avides. Loser B.Loewen dropped to the seventh position with four games lost. Braunschweig will face higher ranked SG BBZ Opladen (#4) in Leverkusen in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
