Regular Season Round 9: Lich II - Kaiserslautern 82-84

Everything went according to plan when seventh ranked Kaiserslautern (6-3) edged on the road 13th ranked Lich II (2-6) 84-82 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was American forward John Barber (200-85, college: Youngstown St.) who had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds. Forward Waldemar Nap (202-93) chipped in 20 points and 8 rebounds. Barber is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the other side the best for losing team was power forward Yannik Ribbecke (197-97) who recorded a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds and Dominik Turudic (202-94) added 14 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) respectively. Four Kaiserslautern and five Lich II players scored in double figures. The victory was the third consecutive win for Kaiserslautern. They moved-up to fourth place in South-West, which they share with Koblenz. Loser Lich II dropped to the twelfth position with six games lost. Kaiserslautern will face league's leader BV Villingen-Schwenningen on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Lich II will play against the league's second-placed Speyer (#2) and hope to win that game.
