Regular Season Round 8: Osnabruecker TB - Opladen 68-56

There was a small surprise when seventh ranked Osnabruecker (4-4) beat at home 4th ranked SG BBZ Opladen (4-3) 68-56 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Osnabruecker. SG BBZ Opladen was better in fourth quarter 10-9. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was American guard NDea Bryant (183-94, college: N.Carolina) who had a double-double by scoring 29 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. The other American import forward Xylina McDaniel (188, college: N.Carolina) chipped in 8 points and 10 rebounds. Canadian guard Jill Stratton (180-91) produced 20 points and 5 rebounds and center Mareike Nettersheim (186-83) added 7 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. SG BBZ Opladen's coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Osnabruecker moved-up to sixth place in North. Loser SG BBZ Opladen keeps the fourth position with three games lost. Osnabruecker will face Baskets Grunberg (#10) in Gruenberg in the next round. SG BBZ Opladen will play at home against Braunschweig (#9) and hope to win that game.
