A very interesting game took place in Izmit. It ended with only two-point home defeat of 8th ranked Izmit (4-3) to tenth ranked Edremit (4-3) 59-57 in the fight for the seventh place. It was an exceptional evening for Bahamas center Waltiea Rolle (198-90, college: N.Carolina) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds. The former international center Melek Bilge (193-89) accounted for 11 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side. American forward Arhonda Covington (185-85, college: Louisville) came up with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds and Senay Sale (-90) added 5 points and 10 rebounds respectively for Izmit in the defeat. Edremit moved-up to seventh place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Izmit. Edremit's next round opponent will be higher ranked Bursa BSB (#4) at home and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
