Regular Season Round 9: Weser Bsk/BTS - Neustadt TSV 79-91

The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Neustadt: Neustadt TSV (#7) and Weser Bsk/BTS (#8). Weser Bsk/BTS was defeated at home 79-91 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. Neustadt TSV dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Weser Bsk/BTS's 34. Neustadt TSV forced 19 Weser Bsk/BTS turnovers. The best player for the winners was British guard Rishi Kakad (188-87, college: Hawaii Pacific) who scored 17 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. American power forward Jake Marvin (203, college: Hastings) chipped in 16 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Neustadt TSV's coach Allen Smith used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was naturalized Congolese forward Blanchard Obiango (202-88) who recorded a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds and forward Lukas Koehler (196-96) added 8 points, 10 rebounds and 9 assists respectively. Five Neustadt TSV and four Weser Bsk/BTS players scored in double figures. Neustadt TSV (4-3) moved-up to fifth place in North, which they share with Goetting.ASC and Vechta II. Weser Bsk/BTS at the other side keeps the eighth position with five games lost. Neustadt TSV is looking forward to face higher ranked Rendsburg (#4) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Weser Bsk/BTS will have a break next round.
