Regular Season Round 8: Vytautas - P.Zvaigzdes 101-80

Vytautas has finally registered their first victory this season after nine consecutive losses. The win is especially important as they outplayed much higher ranked P.Zvaigzdes (5-6) 101-80 on Saturday. Vytautas made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. Vytautas had a 22-11 advantage in offensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 17 long-distance shots on high 54.8 percentage. Vytautas looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Justas Sinica (203-85) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 6 assists and international forward Martynas Linkevicius (197-85, agency: Octagon Europe) who added 22 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) during the contest. Ukrainian forward Vyacheslav Bobrov (203-92) responded with 22 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and Russian forward Nikita Balashov (207-91, agency: Alti Sport) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds. Five Vytautas and four P.Zvaigzdes players scored in double figures. Vytautas maintains tenth position with 1-9 record. It was P.Zvaigzdes' third loss in a row. They keep the fifth place with six games lost. They share the position with Dzukija. Vytautas are looking forward to face higher ranked Nevezis (#7) in Kedainiai in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. P.Zvaigzdes will play on the road against Nevezis in Kedainiai and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
