Regular Season Round 9: Coburg - Dragons 65-68

Ninth-ranked Coburg (3-6) made lots of trouble for second ranked Dragons Rhoendorf (8-2). The visitors from Rhoendorf managed to secure only three-point victory 68-65. However their fans expected much easier game. Dragons Rhoendorf dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Coburg's 24. They outrebounded Coburg 44-27 including 16 on the offensive glass. It was a good game for American guard Kameron Taylor (198-94, college: Seton Hill) who led his team to a victory with 32 points and 7 rebounds. Canadian forward Kevin Thomas (203-92, college: Troy) contributed with a double-double by scoring 10 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Thomas is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American forward Jordan Burris (201-92, college: CS San Bernar.) answered with 20 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and center Max von-der-Wippel (206-94) added 11 points in the effort for Coburg. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Dragons Rhoendorf maintains second place in South with 8-2 record having just one point less than leader Elchingen. Newly promoted Coburg keeps the ninth position with six games lost. Dragons Rhoendorf will play against Karlsruhe SC (#11) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Coburg will play against Iserlohn and hopes to get back on the winning track.
