Very expected game when 10th ranked Timba Timosoara (1-5) was crushed on the road by fifth ranked CSU Sibiu (4-2) 98-70 on Saturday. The game without a history. CSU Sibiu led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. American power forward Chris Cooper (205-90, college: ODU) had a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import point guard Tyler Laser (185-88, college: E.Illinois) chipped in 18 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) during the contest. Five CSU Sibiu players scored in double figures. Coach Dan Fleseriu's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 10 players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. The best for the losing side was Belgian forward Thomas De-Thaey (203-91, college: N.Carolina St., agency: Octagon Europe) with 20 points and American center John Florveus (211-90, college: Georgia, agency: Slash Sports) scored 12 points and 7 rebounds. CSU Sibiu moved-up to third place, which they share with 4 other teams. Newly promoted Timba Timosoara keeps the tenth position with five games lost. CSU Sibiu will face Phoenix Galati (#7) on the road in the next round. Timba Timosoara will play against Targu Mures and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
