Regular Season Round 7: Cankaya - Mersin MBK 81-79

The most exciting game of round 7 in the TKBL took place in Ankara. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 5th ranked Mersin MBK (4-3) to third ranked Cankaya (6-1) 81-79 on Saturday evening. Cankaya looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. American power forward Vicki Baugh (193-89, college: Tennessee) fired a double-double by scoring 29 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Center Kubra Dicle (187-92, agency: 1andBox Sports Agency) chipped in 21 points and 9 rebounds. American center Chanita Jordan (196-87, college: Bowie St., agency: Gamble Sports Management) produced a double-double by scoring 21 points and 15 rebounds and forward Asli Sevinc (178-79, agency: LBM Management) added 20 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists respectively for lost side. Four Mersin MBK players scored in double figures. Cankaya have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain third place with 6-1 record behind leader Bodrum. Mersin MBK at the other side dropped to the seventh position with three games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Cankaya are looking forward to face Elazig (#8) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Mersin MBK will play against Edirne and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
