Regular Season Round 8: Siauliai - Zalgiris 51-80

LKL top team - Zalgiris (10-1) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed eighth ranked Siauliai (2-9) 80-51. The winners were led by Paulius Valinskas (190-95) who scored that evening 11 points and 4 assists and international power forward Gytis Masiulis (206-98) supported him with 13 points and 6 rebounds. Even 11 points by American swingman Omar Prewitt (201-94, college: William & Mary) did not help to save the game for Siauliai. International power forward Laurynas Birutis (213-97) added 10 points and 6 rebounds for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Zalgiris have an impressive eight-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 10-1 record, which they share with Lietkabelis. Siauliai lost eighth consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with nine games lost. They share the position with Juventus. Zalgiris will play against league's second-placed Lietkabelis in Panevezys in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Siauliai will play at home against P.Zvaigzdes (#5) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
