Very significant was Gmunden Swans' (#2) 89-82 road victory against one of their biggest challengers Kapfenberg Bulls. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Kapfenberg Bulls. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Kapfenberg Bulls were plagued by 30 personal fouls down the stretch. The winners were led by the former international point guard Daniel Friedrich (181-92) who scored that evening 23 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and guard Adrian Mitchell (188-95) supported him with 14 points and 4 assists. Even 16 points and 7 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) by international Filip Kramer (202-92) did not help to save the game for Kapfenberg Bulls. International center Jozo Rados (208-93) added 16 points and 6 rebounds for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Kapfenberg Bulls' coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Gmunden Swans (6-1) have an impressive six-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Arkadia and Klosterneuburg. Defending champion Kapfenberg Bulls keep the fourth place with two games lost. Gmunden Swans will play against Furstenfeld Panthers (#8) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Kapfenberg Bulls will play against the league's second-placed Arkadia Lions (#2) in Traiskirchen and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
