Regular Season Round 9: Baunach - Hamburg 69-77

Bottom-ranked Baunach (0-9) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 77-69 loss to third ranked Hamburg (7-2) in Baunach on Sunday evening. They made 20-of-25 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. American forward Jonathon Williams (198-90, college: Wagner) stepped up and scored 20 points and 5 rebounds for the winners and point guard Anthony Canty (183-91) chipped in 19 points. Four Hamburg players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Australian guard William McDowell-White (195-98, college: Fresno St.) with 19 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists and swingman Tibor Taras (197-97) scored 16 points. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Hamburg maintains third place with 7-2 record behind leader Crailsheim. Baunach lost their ninth game in a row. They still close the standings with nine games lost. Hamburg will meet at home OrangeAcademy (#13) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Baunach will play against Ehingen/Urspringschule in Allmendingen and hopes to get finally their first victory.
