Regular Season Round 13: Perlas - Ereliai Mazeikiai 97-82

We should mention about the upset which took place in Vilnius, where 10th ranked Ereliai Mazeikiai (5-8) lost to thirteenth ranked Perlas (4-9) in a road game 82-97 on Friday. Perlas forced 21 Ereliai Mazeikiai turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Martynas Maskolaitis (200-97) stepped up and scored 23 points and 5 rebounds for the winners and forward Arnas Berucka (195-97, agency: Octagon Europe) chipped in 18 points and 6 assists. Four Perlas players scored in double figures. Perlas' coach Arvydas Gronskis used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side point guard Ignas Razutis (185-87) responded with 15 points and 6 assists and forward Aurimas Urbonas (190-93) scored 17 points and 4 assists. Perlas moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Delikatesas. Ereliai Mazeikiai at the other side keeps the tenth position with eight games lost. They share it with Ezerunas. Perlas will again meet higher ranked Ereliai Mazeikiai (#11) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Ereliai Mazeikiai will have a break next round.
