Regular Season Round 6: Lemvig - Stevnsgade 71-81

Bottom-ranked Lemvig (0-7) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 81-71 loss to third ranked Stevnsgade (4-2) in Lemvig on Saturday evening. The game was mostly controlled by Stevnsgade. Lemvig managed to win third quarter 22-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Stevnsgade won last quarter 22-13. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Forward Emilie Hesseldal (186-90, college: Colorado St.) had a double-double by scoring 17 points, 17 rebounds and 7 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the former international forward Ena Viso (179-93, college: S.Dakota St.) chipped in 21 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was American forward Lisa Murphy (185-94, college: Carnegie Mellon) with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds and forward Okako Adika (175-96) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds. Four Lemvig players scored in double figures. Stevnsgade maintains third position with 4-2 record having four points less than leader Horsholm. Loser Lemvig still closes the standings with seven games lost. Stevnsgade will meet at home SISU (#4) in the next round. Lemvig will play against Vaerlose and hopes to get finally their first victory.
