There was a minor upset when one of their biggest challengers Bursa BSB (5-3) lost to tenth ranked Edremit (5-3) in Balikesir 63-73 on Saturday. Edremit forced 19 Bursa BSB turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Bursa BSB's players. Hande Celebi (-90, agency: 1andBox Sports Agency) orchestrated the victory by scoring 17 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Point guard Ilsu Daricioglu (167-83, agency: 1andBox Sports Agency) contributed with 10 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists for the winners. Five Edremit players scored in double figures. American center Monique Oliver (188-91, college: Rutgers) replied with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 15 rebounds and forward Dilek Dedeoglu (183-83, agency: LBM Management) added 11 points in the effort for Bursa BSB. Bursa BSB's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Edremit moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 6 other teams including defeated Bursa BSB. Edremit will face higher ranked Cankaya (#3) in Ankara in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Bursa BSB will play on the road against Izmit and hope to win that game.
