There was no surprise when 9th ranked Rosenheim (3-6) was defeated on the road by second ranked Gotha II (8-1) 84-78 on Saturday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Gotha II outrebounded Rosenheim 43-27 including a 18-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American forward Robert Franklin (195-81, college: N.Mexico Highlands) fired a triple-double by scoring 14 points, 16 rebounds and 13 assists for the winners. Tobias Bode (204-92) chipped in 17 points and 8 rebounds. Four Gotha II players scored in double figures. French forward Evans Ganapamo (201-94, college: Prairie View A&M) produced 25 points and 8 rebounds and American point guard Jguwon Hogges (173-86, college: Oregon Tech) added 16 points, 5 assists and 4 steals respectively for lost side. Gotha II have an impressive six-game winning streak. Newly promoted Gotha II maintains second position in South-East with 8-1 record having 2 victories less than leader Muenster. Loser Rosenheim dropped to the tenth place with six games lost. Gotha II will face Treuchtlingen (#5) in Treutchlingen in the next round. Rosenheim will play at home against Herzogenaurach (#12) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
