The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Suduva as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Suduva smashed 6th ranked Vilkmerge in Marijampole 92-44. Suduva held Vilkmerge to an opponent 23.9 percent shooting from the field compared to 42.7 percent accuracy of the winners and made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. Suduva forced 21 Vilkmerge turnovers and outrebounded them 52-33 including a 33-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Vilkmerge's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Suduva made 9 blocks. American forward Danielle McCray (185-93, college: Mississippi) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 14 rebounds. International forward Neringa Skadaite (179-92) contributed with 12 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Four Suduva players scored in double figures. American guard Olivia Brown (172-94, college: Alcorn St.) replied with 14 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Rita Zilinskaite (175-92) added 13 points in the effort for Vilkmerge. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Vilkmerge lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with six games lost. Vilkmerge will play next round against strong Hoptrans-Sirenos Kaunas trying to get back on the winning streak. Suduva will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game.
