Regular Season Round 9: Samsun - Duzce Bld. 73-88

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both thirteenth ranked Duzce Belediye and 14th ranked Samsun had identical 3-5 record. But Samsun was not able to use a home court advantage and lost to the opponent from Duzce 88-73 on Saturday night. Duzce Belediye dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Samsun's 34. It was a good game for American point guard Corin Henry (178-88, college: Tarleton St., agency: Octagon Europe) who led his team to a victory with 25 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. American-Jamaican power forward Kyle Hunt (208-89, college: Oklahoma S&A, agency: Octagon Europe) contributed with 23 points and 9 rebounds (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field) for the winners. Four Duzce Belediye players scored in double figures. The former international Ulug Kacaniku (202-85) answered with 20 points and 8 rebounds and Cihan Amasyali (191-83) added 17 points in the effort for Samsun. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Duzce Belediye (4-5) moved-up to twelfth place. Samsun at the other side dropped to the thirteenth position with six games lost. Duzce Belediye will face higher ranked Antalyaspor (#3) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Samsun will play against Yalova Bld (#18) and hope to win that game.
