Bottom-ranked Yalova Vip is still unable to win any game. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their eighth consecutive match to sixteenth ranked Fenerbahce G. (2-5) 85-82 on Saturday evening. Fenerbahce G. forced 22 Yalova Vip turnovers. The winners were led by point guard Melisa Korkmaz (172-97) who scored that evening 24 points and 5 rebounds and power forward Zeynep Gul (190-1) supported her with 18 points and 9 rebounds. Four Fenerbahce G. players scored in double figures. Even 38 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 5 blocks by American forward Corinne Costa (193-92, college: UCLA) did not help to save the game for Yalova Vip. Forward Banu Yillar (172-78) added 12 points and 5 assists for the hosts. Fenerbahce G. moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Istanbulgucu. Loser Yalova Vip still closes the standings with eight games lost. Fenerbahce G. will meet at home higher ranked Mersin MBK (#4) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Yalova Vip will play against Urla BLD (#6) in Izmir and hopes to get finally their first victory.
