Regular Season Round 10: Art.Dragons - Bernau 88-81

Very important is a road loss of second ranked SSV Lok Bernau (7-3) against fourth ranked Artland Dragons (6-3) on Saturday night. Visiting SSV Lok Bernau was defeated by Artland Dragons in a tough game in Quakenbrueck 81-88. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of SSV Lok Bernau. Artland Dragons made 17-of-22 charity shots (77.3 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three nailing 13 long-distance shots on high 52.0 percentage. Artland Dragons players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. American guard Pierre Bland (188-92, college: IPFW) scored 20 points and 8 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import forward Andre Calvin (201-85, college: Drake) chipped in 18 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. At the losing side American forward Dexter Werner (198-94, college: N.Dakota St.) responded with 17 points and 6 rebounds and center Jonas Boehm (204-87, college: Campbellsville) scored 14 points and 7 rebounds. Four Artland Dragons and five SSV Lok Bernau players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Artland Dragons moved-up to third place in North. SSV Lok Bernau at the other side keeps the second position with three games lost. Artland Dragons will play against league's leader Schalke on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. SSV Lok Bernau will play against RSV Eintracht and hopes to get back on the winning track.
