Regular Season Round 10: Cuxhaven - Schalke 75-85

ProB top team - Schalke (9-1) managed to deliver another win on Saturday. This time they beat eleventh ranked Cuxhaven (2-8) 85-75. Schalke made 19-of-25 free shots (76.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Cuxhaven turnovers. It was a very good performance for naturalized American forward Shawn Gulley (201-93, college: Temple JC) who helped to win the game recording 26 points and 6 rebounds. American-Irish guard Patrick Carney (185-85, college: Chapman) contributed with 25 points for the winners. Schalke's coach Raphael Wilder used an eleven-player rotation saving starting five for next games. American guard Terence Smith (193-91, college: Mississippi) replied with 15 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and Moritz Huebner (200-97) added 17 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Cuxhaven. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Schalke maintains first position in North with 9-1 record. Cuxhaven lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the eleventh place with eight games lost. Schalke will face Artland Dragons (#3) in Quakenbrueck in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Cuxhaven will play on the road against Oldenburg (#8) and hope to win that game.
