There was a minor upset when 11th ranked BG Goettingen (4-6) was defeated at home by fourteenth ranked Braunschweig (4-6) 79-75 on Saturday. Braunschweig looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American swingman Jarekious Bradley (196-90, college: SE Missouri St., agency: Diamond Sports) scored 17 points and 8 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and naturalized Ivorian guard Bazoumana Kone (190-93, college: Bremerhaven) chipped in 17 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American point guard Brion Rush (191-84, college: Grambling St., agency: 3Eye) responded with 15 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and his fellow American import point guard Michael Stockton (185-89, college: Westminster, UT) scored 14 points and 7 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. BG Goettingen's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Braunschweig moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Goettingen and Jena. Braunschweig will face higher ranked EWE Baskets (#8) in Oldenburg in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
