Regular Season Round 7: Dynamo-NPU - Rivne 58-70

The game between closely ranked teams ended with sixth ranked Rivne's (5-6) road victory over 7th ranked Dynamo-NPU (3-7) in Kyiv 70-58 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 4-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 70-58. Strangely Dynamo-NPU outrebounded Rivne 48-32 including a 21-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a very good performance for forward Iryna Basalyk (176-85) who helped to win the game recording 22 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Point guard Viktoriya Kovalevska (170-99) contributed with 9 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Four Rivne players scored in double figures. Alona Samokhvalova (181-97) answered with 12 points and 9 rebounds and center Oksana Piantak (205-96, agency: LBM Management) added 9 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Dynamo-NPU. Rivne moved-up to third place. Dynamo-NPU lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the seventh position with seven games lost. Rivne will face bottom-ranked Tavriyska Zirka (#8) in Kherson in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Dynamo-NPU will play on the road against Chaika in Berdiansk and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
