Regular Season Round 9: Wolfenbuettel - Recklinghausen 78-42

Date: November 18, 2017
Very predictable result when fifth ranked Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel (5-3) rolled over at home bottom-ranked Recklinghausen (0-8) 78-42 on Saturday. The game without a history. Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They held Recklinghausen to an opponent 21.9 percent shooting from the field compared to 43.1 percent accuracy of the winners. Recklinghausen was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for American forward Brianna Rollerson (183-94, college: Creighton) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 17 rebounds. Canadian guard Nakeshia Hyde (180-90, college: Texas Tech) contributed with 19 points for the winners. Four Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel players scored in double figures. American guard Kiki Robertson (170, college: Alaska-Anch.) answered with 10 points and 6 rebounds and power forward Pia Kassack (186-82) added 12 points in the effort for Recklinghausen. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel moved-up to fourth place in North, which they share with Opladen. Newly promoted Recklinghausen still closes the standings with eight games lost. Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel will face league's second-placed TG Neuss on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Recklinghausen will play against TuSLi Berlin (#3) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
