Very important is a home loss of third ranked Eskisehir Basket (5-2) against fifth ranked Fenerbahce (5-2) on Sunday night. Host Eskisehir Basket was crushed by Fenerbahce in Edirne 85-66. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Eskisehir Basket. Fenerbahce players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. It was an exceptional evening for international Melih Mahmutoglu (193-90) who led the winners and scored 20 points and 5 rebounds. American-Bulgarian point guard Earl Rowland (188-83, college: St.Mary's, CA) came up with 17 points and 8 assists and American point guard Billy Baron (187-90, college: Canisius) added 15 points respectively for Eskisehir Basket in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Defending champion moved-up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Eskisehir Basket. Fenerbahce will play against Demir IBB (#13) in Buyukcekmece in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Eskisehir Basket will play on the road against Darussafaka (#7) in Istanbul and hopes to get back on the winning track.
