Regular Season Round 8: Dolphin - Chernomorets 63-91

We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when fifth ranked Chernomorets (2-4) crushed on the road one of their biggest challengers Dolphin (2-3) 91-63 on Sunday. Chernomorets dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Dolphin's 34. They outrebounded Dolphin 49-26 including a 39-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Chernomorets looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists. Forward Emil Dimov (190-81) orchestrated the victory with a triple-double by scoring 25 points, 19 rebounds and 12 assists. Guard Dimitar Naydenov (185-80) contributed with 27 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Four Chernomorets players scored in double figures. Chernomorets' coach Decho Koeshinov felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Rostislav Tonchev (202-95) replied with 21 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Nikolay Georgiev (178-1) added 14 points and 8 assists in the effort for Dolphin. Chernomorets maintains fifth position in A with 2-4 record. Loser Dolphin keeps the fourth place with three games lost. Chernomorets will face league's leader UE Varna at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Dolphin will play against Beroe-2 and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
