Regular Season Round 10: Sirenos - Aistes-LSU 74-50

The game had a very big importance for third-ranked Hoptrans-Sirenos Kaunas as it allowed them to take a leadership position after previous leader's (Kibirkstis) loss. Hoptrans-Sirenos Kaunas smashed 4th ranked Aistes-LSU at home 74-50. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Aistes-LSU. Hoptrans-Sirenos Kaunas dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Aistes-LSU's 18. Hoptrans-Sirenos Kaunas forced 26 Aistes-LSU turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of international guard Kriste Druskyte (180-92) who helped to win the game recording 10 points and 7 rebounds. Ukrainian forward Olena Ogorodnikova (187-81) contributed with 11 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four Hoptrans-Sirenos Kaunas players scored in double figures. Gintare Jasiunskaite (182-94) replied with 15 points and 7 rebounds and forward Akvile Baronenaite (185-93) added 9 points in the effort for Aistes-LSU. Aistes-LSU's coach Rokas Kondratavicius gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Hoptrans-Sirenos Kaunas (7-1) have an impressive six-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Suduva. Aistes-LSU at the other side dropped to the fifth place with five games lost. Aistes-LSU will play next round against strong Suduva trying to get back on the winning streak. Hoptrans-Sirenos Kaunas will try to continue on its current victory against fourth ranked Fortuna at Klaipeda.
