There was no surprise when 14th ranked BG Karlsruhe (1-9) lost at home to seventh ranked TV Langen (6-4) 83-74 on Saturday. TV Langen forced 19 BG Karlsruhe turnovers. American forward Nick Smith (203-95, college: Belmont) orchestrated the victory by scoring 19 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Leander Sielaff (194-94) contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Four TV Langen players scored in double figures. TV Langen's coach Markus Kuhn used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Croatian guard Matej Jelovcic (185-98) answered with 18 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists and swingman Andrej Schmid (194-95) added 18 points in the effort for BG Karlsruhe. TV Langen moved-up to sixth place in South-West. Loser BG Karlsruhe keeps the fourteenth position with nine games lost. TV Langen will face Stuttgart (#8) at home in the next round.
