Regular Season Round 11: Grevenbroich - Herford 97-65
Date: November 25, 2017
Very predictable result when second ranked Grevenbroich (11-1) rolled over at home 7th ranked Herford (5-7) 97-65 on Saturday. Grevenbroich dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Herford's 40. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Herford's players. American guard Gerrell Martin (190-93, college: LIU Brooklyn) orchestrated the victory by scoring 27 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. American-British forward Marcus Delpeche (201-95, college: Bates) contributed with 27 points (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) for the winners. Worth to mention Delpeche played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped get the job in pro basketball. Canadian-British forward Kris Douse (198-86, college: Point Park) answered with 23 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Bastian Landgraf (194-95) added 9 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Herford. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Grevenbroich. They keep a position of West leader, which they share with Muenster. Herford lost their sixth game in a row. They keep the seventh place with seven games lost. Grevenbroich will face Salzkotten (#8) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Herford will play against Hagen BG and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
