Regular Season Round 6: Domzale - Maribor 62-65

The most exciting game of round 6 in the SKL took place in Domzale. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of bottom-ranked Domzale (0-6) to sixth ranked Maribor (3-3) 65-62 on Saturday evening. The game without a history. Maribor led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Maribor forced 22 Domzale turnovers. 24 personal fouls committed by Domzale helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Tina Cvijanovic (173-98) had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the former international guard Martina Dover-Pukl (176-86) chipped in 11 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Maribor's coach Ziga Ravnikar used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was guard Lana Santelj (184-1) with 16 points and 5 rebounds and guard Rebeka Kracan (173-98) scored 17 points. Maribor moved-up to third place, which they share with Konjice and Ilrija. Domzale at the other side still closes the standings with six games lost. Maribor is looking forward to face Ilrija (#3) in Ljubljana in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Domzale will play at home against Grosbasket (#6) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
