Regular Season Round 6: Rilski Sportist - Asenovets 68-65

Important game to mention about took place in Samokov. Fourth ranked Rilski Sportist (2-2) saved a 3-point victory at home edging one of their biggest challengers Asenovets (1-3) 68-65 in the game for the third place. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 24-12. But Asenovets won second period 20-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Rilski Sportist forced 30 Asenovets turnovers. Point guard Claudia Penkova (160-98) had a triple-double by scoring 25 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists and 11 steals to lead the charge for the winners and center Preslava Koleva (189-99) chipped in 8 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. Rilski Sportist's coach Borislav Trifonov allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. The best for the losing side was forward Hristina Geraskova (180-98) with 15 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and swingman Petya Argirova (166-0) scored 17 points. Rilski Sportist moved-up to third place in East. Asenovets at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the fourth position with three games lost. Rilski Sportist will play against league's second-placed Beroe in Stara Zagora in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Asenovets will have a break next round.
