Regular Season Round 11: Goetting.ASC - Vechta II 83-62

There was a minor upset when 5th ranked Vechta-2 (5-4) was smashed by seventh ranked Goetting.ASC (5-4) in Goettingen 83-62 on Saturday. Goetting.ASC forced 22 Vechta-2 turnovers. Guard Andrew Onwuegbuzie (192-95) orchestrated the victory by scoring 25 points and 6 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). Swingman Jorge Schmidt (193-85) contributed with 16 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Four Goetting.ASC players scored in double figures. Croatian center Neven Zeravica (205-88, college: W.Virg.Wesl.) answered with 19 points (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field) and American swingman Robert Crawford (201-90, college: Cent.Arkansas) added 9 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Vechta-2. Vechta-2's coach already knew that his team would not have a big chance, so allowed to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Goetting.ASC moved-up to sixth place in North, which they share with Vechta II. Goetting.ASC will face Weser Bsk/BTS (#11) in Neustadt in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game.
