Istanbul Uni can celebrate finally their first win this season after six consecutive losses. The victory is especially important as it came on the road game in Bornova, where they outplayed Bornova (0-7) 74-55 on Sunday. Istanbul Uni looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a great evening for Romanian forward Claudia Pop (182-89, agency: ProDep Management) who led her team to a victory scoring 17 points and 6 rebounds. Belgian point guard Julie Vanloo (172-93) helped adding 17 points and 6 assists. At the losing side forward Duygu Firat (189-90, agency: 1andBox Sports Agency) responded with 16 points and 9 rebounds and Sumeyya Ozcan (, agency: 1andBox Sports Agency) scored 12 points and 9 assists. Five Istanbul Uni and four Bornova players scored in double figures. Istanbul Uni (1-6) left bottom position moving up to thirteenth place. It was Bornova's seventh loss in a row. Newly promoted team still closes the standings with seven games lost. Istanbul Uni will meet at home higher ranked Adana ASKI (#12) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Bornova will play against Besiktas in Istanbul and hopes to get finally their first victory.
