A very interesting game took place in Oldenburg. It ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 11th ranked Cuxhaven (2-9) to eighth ranked Oldenburg (5-6) 78-76 on Sunday evening. Oldenburg made 16-of-21 charity shots (76.2 percent) during the game. Naturalized Bosnian point guard Robert Drijencic (190-96) orchestrated the victory by scoring 20 points and 7 assists. Power forward Marcel Kessen (207-97) contributed with 20 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Moritz Huebner (200-97) answered with 25 points and 9 rebounds and American guard Terence Smith (193-91, college: Mississippi) added 16 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Cuxhaven. Five Cuxhaven players scored in double figures. Oldenburg moved-up to seventh place in North, which they share with Bochum. Cuxhaven lost their fourth game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the eleventh position with nine games lost. Oldenburg's next round opponent will be higher ranked Artland Dragons (#4) in Quakenbrueck and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Cuxhaven will play at home against ETB Wohnbau (#3) and hope to win that game.
