Regular Season Round 6: Esgueira - Sampaense 70-52

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of undefeated Sampaense (5-1) on the court of top-ranked Esgueira / Oli on Sunday night. Visitors were defeated by Esgueira / Oli 70-52. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Sampaense. It was a key game for the top position in North. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 9-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 70-52. Esgueira / Oli forced 20 Sampaense turnovers. American forward Jordan Martin (203-93, college: Missouri St.) replied with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 14 rebounds and forward Mohamed Camara (196-83) added 13 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Sampaense. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Esgueira / Oli (6-0) have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position in North with a perfect record of 6 victories in a row. Sampaense at the other side keeps the second place with one game lost. They share the position with Maia Basket.
