Regular Season Round 11: Baunach - Heidelberg 83-73

Baunach has finally registered their first victory this season after ten consecutive losses. The win is especially important as they defeated much higher ranked MLP Academics Heidelberg (6-5) 83-73 on Sunday. The best player for the winners was American power forward Robert Ferguson (203-85, college: St.Joseph's) who scored 16 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Louis Olinde (205-98) chipped in 17 points and 7 rebounds. Four Baunach players scored in double figures. Guard Niklas Wuerzner (196-94) produced 19 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and American swingman Shy Ely (193-87, college: Evansville, agency: Diamond Sports) added 22 points respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Baunach maintains sixteenth place with 1-10 record. Loser MLP Academics Heidelberg dropped to the seventh position with five games lost. They share it with Hanau and Kirchheim. Baunach will meet league's leader Crailsheim Merlins on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. MLP Academics Heidelberg will play against OrangeAcademy (#14) in Ulm and hope to secure a win.
