Regular Season Round 10: Donau-Ries - Hannover 80-75

Date: November 26, 2017
Rather expected game when 6th ranked Hannover (5-5) lost to third ranked TH Wohnbau Angels (7-3) in Noerdlingen 75-80. It looked good early as Hannover took a 3-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then TH Wohnbau Angels had a 24-7 second period charge getting the lead and Hannover was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 75-80. TH Wohnbau Angels dominated on the defensive end, holding Hannover to just 7 points in second quarter. They made 22-of-24 charity shots (91.7 percent) during the game. TH Wohnbau Angels players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Canadian forward Kim Pierre-Louis (183-93, college: Massachusetts) fired 22 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Canadian guard Samantha Hill (178-94, college: Virginia Tech) chipped in 18 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. American Melissa Jeltema (175-88, college: Oakland) produced 25 points and 7 rebounds and the former international Birte Thimm (180-87) added 17 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Hannover's coach Rodger Battersby tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. TH Wohnbau Angels maintains third position with 7-3 record having just two points less than leader Wasserburg. Hannover at the other side keeps the sixth place with five games lost. TH Wohnbau Angels' next round opponent will be BC Pharmaserv Marburg (#7) on the road. Hannover will play against the league's second-placed Gruner Stern Keltern and hope to win that game.
