Regular Season Round 7: Ovarense - FC Porto 68-88

Everything went according to plan when sixth ranked FC Porto Ferpinta (5-4) outplayed on the road 10th ranked Ovarense (2-7) 88-68 on Thursday. The game without a history. FC Porto Ferpinta led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. FC Porto Ferpinta dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Ovarense's 20 and made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Ovarense 29-16 including a 22-10 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a very good performance for Serbian power forward Sasa Borovnjak (206-89, college: Penn St., agency: 011 Sports) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and 8 rebounds (on 11-of-12 shooting from the field). American forward Will Sheehey (201-92, college: Indiana) contributed with 22 points for the winners. American point guard Will Perry (180-94, college: Lenoir-Rhyne) answered with 23 points and Canadian-British forward Jermel Kennedy (201-89, college: Lander) added 13 points and 5 assists (made all of his seven free throws) in the effort for Ovarense. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. FC Porto Ferpinta maintains sixth place with 5-4 record. Ovarense lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the tenth position with seven games lost. FC Porto Ferpinta will face Electrico FC (#11) in Ponte de Sor in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Ovarense will play on the road against Galitos-Barreiro and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
