Regular Season Round 11: Mersin Univ. - Bodrum 41-72

TKBL top team - Bodrum (10-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed eleventh ranked Mersin Uni (5-6) 72-41. Bodrum dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Mersin Uni's 24. They outrebounded Mersin Uni 46-30 including 31 on the defensive glass. Bodrum players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Mersin Uni's players. It was a great evening for American center Sasha Goodlett (195-90, college: Georgia Tech) who led her team to a victory scoring 14 points and 9 rebounds. Forward Melis Kaya (188-91) helped adding 16 points and 6 rebounds. Bodrum's coach felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American center Ariel Butts (190-93, college: Rutgers) responded with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds and the former international guard Pinar Turan (170-82) scored 8 points and 4 assists. Bodrum have an impressive series of ten victories in a row. They maintain first place with 10-0 record. Mersin Uni at the other side keeps the eleventh position with six games lost. Bodrum will play against Izmit (#6) at home in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Mersin Uni will play against Istanbulgucu (#12) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
