Bottom-ranked Ovarense managed to get the second consecutive victory on Friday night. This time they won against tenth-ranked Boa Viagem 66-60. And what about a second win in a row after ...seven consecutive losses. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Boa Viagem won third quarter 19-12. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Ovarense won last quarter 21-16. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Boa Viagem to just 7 points in second quarter. American forward Mikaela Shaw (183-94, college: Omaha) nailed 17 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side and her fellow American import center Alison Bouman (193-92, college: Davenport) accounted for 16 points and 9 rebounds. Ugandan forward Claire Lamunu (185-93, college: Vanguard) came up with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds and Belarusian forward Viktoriya Pankova (185-93) added 14 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Boa Viagem in the defeat. Four Ovarense and five Boa Viagem players scored in double figures. Ovarense (2-7) moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Olivais. Boa Viagem lost their third game in a row. They keep the tenth position with seven games lost. Ovarense will meet Olivais (#11) in the next round. Boa Viagem will play against the league's second-placed Lombos Quinta where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
