Regular Season Round 12: Langen - Stuttgart 63-51

Date: December 2, 2017
Rather expected game when 8th ranked Stuttgart (5-6) was defeated on the road by sixth ranked TV Langen (7-4) 63-51 on Saturday. TV Langen outrebounded Stuttgart 39-27 including a 34-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Nick Smith (203-95, college: Belmont) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds and forward Chris Reinhardt (202-88) who added 12 points, 9 rebounds and 4 blocks during the contest. Four TV Langen players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was guard Cyrill Da-Silva (183-83) with 10 points and 5 assists and forward Jonas Leidel (195-87) scored 11 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. TV Langen maintains sixth position in South-West with 7-4 record. Stuttgart lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the ninth place with six games lost. TV Langen will face higher ranked Saarlouis/Dillingen (#3) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Stuttgart will play against Lich II (#13) and hope to win that game.
